How Pet Age Calculation Works
Dog Age Calculation
Dog aging varies by size. Small breeds live longer than large breeds. The formula adjusts for this difference in aging rates.
Cat Age Calculation
Cats age quickly in their first two years (≈24 human years). After that, each cat year equals about 4 human years.
Rabbit Age Calculation
Rabbits age very quickly. The first year equals 20 human years, then each subsequent year equals about 8 human years.
Other Pets
Small animals like hamsters and birds have very short lifespans. Their aging is calculated based on maximum lifespan comparisons.
Important Note
These calculations are approximations. Actual aging depends on breed, health, diet, and living conditions. Always consult with a veterinarian for accurate health assessments.
