What is Provident Fund (PF)?
The Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) is a retirement benefits scheme for salaried employees in India. Both employee and employer contribute 12% of basic salary + DA each month. The current EPF interest rate is 8.15% per annum (2023-24).
How PF Calculation Works
PF calculation follows this formula:
Monthly PF Contribution = 12% of (Basic Salary + Dearness Allowance)
Total Monthly PF = Employee PF (12%) + Employer PF (12%)
Final Amount = Contributions + Compound Interest
